The Wizardia x TrustSwap AMA kicked off at 5:30 UTC on Monday, February 21 with Wizardia CEO Mindaugas answering the questions, Content Marketing Lead William asking the questions and Director Partnerships Eligijus doing the introductions and fielding questions from Twitter. 284 Twitter listeners tuned in — a new record for our AMAs! William: Can you introduce yourself and tell us a little bit about your background?
Mindaugas: I’m Mindaugas or Mind in short, the CEO of Wizardia. Firstly, I love games in general: sports games, computer games, board games, etc. Everything is a game when you think about it, isn’t it?
But on a more professional side, I’m an Entrepreneur, team leader, and crypto investor. I’ve been gaming/working on games all my life and Wizardia is the passion project I’ve been looking for for a long time.
William: Tell us a little bit about the project. In the simplest terms, for someone who’s new to the project, what is Wizardia?
Mindaugas: Wizardia is AAA Play-to-Earn (P2E), online role-playing strategy game built on 3 core gameplay pillars:
- innovative, turn-based combat,
- player decision-driven game evolution,
- base-building with a sophisticated economy model at its heart.
We were always passionate about gaming, magic, competing and we wanted to create a game that would have all of these features and where actual players could earn from the game! Specific games that inspired us are Heroes of Might and Magic, King’s Bounty and Raid: Shadow Legends, as well as Eve Online, Travian, and Clash of Clans for the economy model.
William: Something that’s a bit more special about Wizardia is this Play-to-Earn aspect. How can people generate income without playing the game?
Mindaugas: There are many ways to earn in Wizardia. The first one is our Arena! If you have the arena NFT, you will earn passive income based on how many players there are in Wizardia. You can estimate exactly how much that could be at https://wizardia.co/calculator. Others will be able to earn by playing in the arena, creating new spells, renting, selling them, and much more!
Investors mainly resort to passive income from Genesis NFTs or holding valuable in-game NFTs and selling them to other players or investors. On top of the investor income sources that players can earn from are in-game interactions. To explain the mechanism, there are 2 distinct types of transactions in the game.
Player to player: battling other players in the Arena and winning wagers as well as acquiring resources (needed for Wizard upgrades and other game interactions) that can be sold to other players. And there’s also crafting valuable consumables, Artifacts and Abilities in the form of NFTs and selling them to other players. Players who invest effort into upgrading their Wizards and are lucky enough to roll powerful stats, abilities, and rarity can later sell them to other players or use them for more efficient resource grinding and/or winning PvP battles and/or renting to other players if they’re not using them. Other NFT items (including Genesis NFTs) found in the game or purchased as a limited time offer gain value (because of their in-game uses, unique art, passive income opportunities, or rarity) and can be sold to other players
Player to vault to player: Arena Genesis NFTs earn passive income from an in-game Arena that collects small fees for facilitating PvP battles and any other transactions taking place. Other in-game institutions will have genesis NFTs as the game develops (e.g. in-game bank) — passive income from institutions/NPCs providing in-game utility and collecting fees like for participation in Tournaments to win in-game currency and/or $WZRD and/or valuable NFTs.
William: Those are very exciting plans, but one question we’re hearing a lot from our audience: when will the game be ready?
Mindaugas: An alpha version will be released in around 4 weeks. We are currently working with a couple of production houses currently under NDA. When the NDA period ends we will share some gameplay footage and then release the demo for all to try.
A beta version with NFT integration will be ready within 2–3 months from now. You will be able to use your NFT and finally battle in the arena of Wizardia. PVP and PVE battle modes will be available!
The full game with glorious AR integration will be ready by the end of the year! People often ask us — what is AR going to be like? We like to imagine it like Pokemon go on STEROIDS, just with wizards, magic, and next-level artwork.
William: You will be raising a lot of money soon for Wizardia, what are your priorities for spending?
Mindaugas: We prioritize our budget spending for: building the community, and keeping it happy (hiring more professional community managers is one of the key priorities here.) Increasing the game development team size so we can speed up the game development processes. And marketing and brand-building activities.
We value our community and we want to have a close relationship with all of you guys. We want to build it even more! (Currently, we have 250k+ members across all social media channels). To make the community happy we want to speed up the game development, so everyone can finally touch the game and experience it themselves. And any project needs good marketing, so we believe that spreading the word about Wizardia is very important since it is key to having a large community and player base.
William: Your artwork is incredibly detailed and beautiful, can you tell us a little about the creative vision for the game?
Mindaugas: As I mentioned before, we have a goal to make a game that looks beautiful and has a unique look. We are really proud of what our art department is coming up with. We aim for the triple-A look and feel of the game, that is one of the reasons why we are still making you guys wait for the first demo with the updated visuals. We want even the demo to have as much detail as possible. The bonus with the beautiful art is also the deep lore that we are working on — unique wizard backstories, atmospheric setting, and immersive tales surrounding the game’s mechanics.
William: One thing that’s been recently introduced that not everyone might know about yet…how does Wizardia’s affiliate program work?
Mindaugas: For those who might not have heard about it, our new affiliate program is now available on our website. At the bottom of the page, you will find a “Wizardia Affiliate Program” link where anyone can register to become our affiliate. Currently, we have an affiliate program for our Arena Genesis NFTs! It’s really generous and simple to use. Why generous? Our affiliates receive a 20% revenue share from all the NFTs that were sold using their unique link. All the people that purchase NFTs via that link will receive an instant 5% discount on all NFTs they purchase via the affiliate link. Why is it simple? You just register, copy your unique link and share it with your audience. A simple 3 step system that just works. Who can become an affiliate? — Anyone! Just visit our partners' page https://partners.wizardia.io/ (link at the bottom of our landing page) and in a few minutes, you will be fully on board.
William: A big philosophical question, because we know you love those: What is the evolution of the P2E model? How do you see these gaming models evolving in the future?
Mindaugas: Even before the game launches you will be able to earn by simply holding our Arena Genesis NFTs and engaging in a website-based game which is coming in around 6 weeks’ time. When the arena launches, you will be able to earn from fighting in arena battles, and of course by training your wizard NFTs, increasing their value by gaining new abilities and stats, and then earning by selling these assets to other players.
In the later stages, the crafting and spell discovery system will give you the ability to obtain some valuable Artifact and Protospell NFTs within the game mechanics and earn passively from them and also sell them, especially if you discover or craft one of the rare NFTs.
Some other ways to earn will become available also. We will be providing more info on our channels bit by bit. We will reveal all the details to our community as soon as possible.
William: We’ve heard about the game and a bit about you, can you tell us a little more about the other executives and members of your team?
Mindaugas: Most of our core team members have known each other for more than 10 years. We worked together on 500+ projects, games, websites, videos, apps, and even social awareness projects.
Our key members are:
- Tom (COO) — A well-connected entrepreneur, digital marketing guru, and a very organized person in general. My founding partner who worked with big brands like Ferrari, Redbull, Nokia and has several successful software companies.
- Mantas (Creative director) — Digital artist and designer with extensive experience in creating moving image content for video games, film, art, and non-profit organizations. The guy with the most impressive resume of AAA games. Worked with Call of Duty, the Division, Eve Valkyrie, the Crew, and many more!
- Marius (CTO) — Experienced digital back-end expert, team leader/idea generator who has his own several successful software companies, worked on Ferrari, Redbull, and many more!
William: Can you tell us more about the roadmap for 2022 and what will happen when?
Mindaugas: Our key goals for 2022 are:
Goals for the Game — a demo — coming in March, Arena launch — Q2, Global tournament system, and base building mode — Q3, AR integration, and full game launch — Q4
DEX and CEX listings are coming in March and some more exchanges in April. We are finalizing the contracts with the exchanges so watch out for some news in our channels.
We want to release the Wizard NFTs earlier, so now we are working on releasing them not in Q2 as planned but just at the end of Q1.
William: We’ll come to some community questions soon, but a couple more first. If you had to tell our community one major reason to invest in this launch, what would you say it was?
Mindaugas: If you believe in a long-term future for Wizardia as our team does, this is your chance to get Wizardia tokens at one of the earliest stages, you will be able to enjoy the staking rewards earlier than others.

XSV: You changed your art style RADICALLY in just a few short months. Pictures of your game and art from November are completely different from the art now. How could your team afford to create such huge changes in such a short amount of time? Is this just art?
Mindaugas: We’ve been working on these new designs for a long time and it’s so great to be able to show them to our community. There’s a lot more to come. It’s amazing to see the motion graphics too and not just still images.
Ori: May I know how many NFTs do I need to play Wizardia games?
Mindaugas: You need at least 3 wizards to join the battle arena, but there are also free-to-play wizards available. And different wizard synergies and different builds are needed to match other wizard teams in the arena.
Jakub Kaczmarek: When will we play the demo?
Mindaugas: The first demo is coming at the end of March.
Squirtle Squad Ventures: Can you tell us more about the Arena NFTs and how they can generate income for the holder?
Mindaugas: Arena Genesis NFTs reward owners in two ways: first, before the Arena is launched, the NFTs will be automatically staked and earn $WZRD token staking rewards. After the Arena goes live, Arena Genesis NFT owners will receive passive rewards in the form of a cut from transactions in the battle Arena.
Petr Senfeld: Will the game be also browser friendly? Can we play the game with genesis wizards?
Mindaugas: We’re building the game with Unity, so there will be the option to port the game to many platforms. The first release will be a PC client, but then a browser-based version, phone, etc. To make things clear about the second question — Genesis NFTs and Wizard NFTs are two different kinds of Wizardia NFT. Arena Genesis NFTs are on sale now on the Wizardia website. Wizard NFTs will be launched very soon!
Darsh: What are the future plans for the game? will it be part of the metaverse?
Mindaugas: Another big question to finish with. We have some partnership talks with other games in the works, which would be the first step into the metaverse. We’ll have to see which other games we end up teaming up with, but please stay tuned to our social channels for more updates there.
