If you’re thinking of playing Crypto Royale, read this article first because you might be in for a better treat! Compared to Crypto Royale, Wizardia has the same game logic at its core—it works in a rock-paper-scissors manner—but offers much more.
To help you choose between the two games, we sat down and compared Crypto Royale vs. Wizardia in 3 areas:
TL;DR
Crypto Royale is a straightforward free-to-play blockchain game that’s nice to try if you’re a complete newbie to NFT projects. You can earn a little crypto and get familiar with Web3 gaming. However, if you’re looking for a game that will challenge you more, has a larger community, and has bigger earning potential, Wizardia is a better choice.
Before we get into the more detailed comparison, let’s quickly look at the key things to know about Wizardia and Crypto Royale.

The problem with most Web3 games is that they’re not much fun. This is mainly because Web3 game developers are rushed to release their crypto projects while their token prices are high and investors are still interested.
When choosing a crypto game, consider the one where creators have a long-term vision of creating solid gameplay and put enough resources into incentivizing players to reinvest in the game’s economy.
Wizardia: A whole different beast
Wizardia takes inspiration from classic role-playing games such as Heroes of Might, Raid: Shadow Legends, and other similar projects created on traditional RPG systems where hero characters and their abilities are at the center of the game.
Like Crypto Royale, Wizardia uses rock, paper, and scissors combat logic. Each Wizard (also an NFT) has one of the three available affinities: Mind, Body, and Soul, where Mind deals more damage to Body, Body deals more damage to Soul, and Soul deals more damage to Mind.

However, Wizardia takes this classic game logic to a whole new level with its highly developed strategic gameplay.
Wizardia is built on three gameplay pillars:
The team behind this project also stands out with a serious dedication to creating an AAA-quality game (they’re constantly releasing game updates on their YouTube channel).
Once fully released, Wizardia will immerse players in a fantasy realm overrun by a menacing fog. You’ll fight over other players in PvP battle arenas and construct home bases in a finite resource environment while solving puzzles with other players in a cooperative game mode.
Early Wizardia’s adopters can now enjoy exciting tournaments, where you can battle it out against the AI. The game’s designers made it quite challenging to claim victory in the PvE so that you get a fair share of complex problem solving and reap serious rewards.
Each round in the alpha version consists of 90 seconds to give you enough time to analyze the opponent’s team. Check the recording of the live stream for tips and tricks on how to win in a Wizardia tournament.
Crypto Royale: a simpler, free-to-play choice for crypto newbies
As mentioned, Crypto Royale is also based on a rock-paper-scissors format, where each color either deals damage to or is weakened by the other two colors.

There are three colors available: Yellow, Cyan, and Magenta. Yellow damages Cyan, which damages Magenta, which in turn deals damage to Yellow. If you’re in combat with a player of the same color, you will deal more damage to them if you have more HP.
The gameplay was purposefully designed to be straightforward and lasts less than a minute.
You can enter the combat in your browser without upfront investment and start hitting other players immediately (no account is needed). To identify which players can deal you damage, look for the spikes around the edges of their avatars. Positioning of your “moon” and timing are critical components.
As the gameplay progresses, The Darkness, a continual external force on the edges of the play area, will begin creeping into the center. As you fight against other players and The Darkness, you can adopt your unique style of battling it out, which often becomes an identifiable trait of more experienced players.
Key takeaway #1
Crypto Royale is a decent choice for Web 3 gaming newbies since its game mechanics are very straightforward—you can start playing right away. However, you may soon start looking for something more dynamic to play, like Wizardia. Wizardia is also beginner-friendly, but its gameplay already has more layers, even in the alpha version.
Since both Wizardia and Crypto Royale are crypto games, there’s one inevitable question…
When lambo?
Wizardia: Reap serious rewards from gameplay or investing
With NFTs at its core, Wizardia is a play-to-earn game that makes it easy for gamers and investors to generate revenue.
As a player, you can reap serious rewards from Wizard NFTs (in-game characters). You can level them up and sell, trade, or rent them out on the Wizardia marketplace.
And if you’re looking for investment opportunities, you can earn from Arena Genesis NFTs in two ways:

Crypto Royale: Earn a quick buck, but not much more
While Crypto Royale is a free-to-play game, and you can withdraw and sell your $ROY tokens immediately, it probably won’t get you Lambo anytime soon.
Crypto Royale doesn’t hide it either—they openly state it on their website when describing their game: “where players compete for fame, glory and a little profit.” Their NFTs are also pretty recent and quite simplistic.
Plus, at the moment of writing, the current CoinMarketCap ranking is #7519, while Wizardia is #3441. The market cap for Crypto Royale is not currently available, but its 24-h trading volume is six times lower compared to Wizardia.
Also, with Crypto Royale, the fixed APY you can earn by staking is only 20% APY, while Wizardia’s staking program offers up to 114% APY.
Finally, unlike Wizardia, Crypto Royale doesn’t have a referral program.
Key takeaway #2
Crypto Royale: good for earning small amounts of crypto quickly.
Wizardia: best for gamers with a long-term vision and a determination to reap serious rewards.
The last (but not least) factor when evaluating play-to-earn games is their community. It's a huge red flag if the crypto game doesn’t have an active community. You’re looking at a scam project, or the game doesn’t have enough traction yet, in which case it’s not worth your time either.
Wizardia: A buzzing crypto community
Wizardia has a very active and enthusiastic community. When writing, Wizardia boasts 139,4K Twitter followers, 152.9K TikTok followers, and 69,910 Discord members. They are also big on Telegram (49,421 members) and have a decent following on YouTube (19,8K subscribers). No wonder the game’s early investors’ NFTs are selling fast!

Crypto Royale: Still gathering its fanbase
Crypto Royale pales to Wizardia when getting crypto gamers’ attention. At the time of writing, Crypto Royale has 5,8K Twitter followers, 74,8K Discord members, and 1.5K Reddit Members. While the numbers are promising (especially when it comes to Discord), the game doesn’t get the same spotlight as Wizardia, which, in the Web3 gaming world, translates to more modest monetary rewards for playing the game.
Key takeaway #3
While both games have a similar number of Discord members, Wizardia has many more people buzzing about the game on other social networks. And, since the value of anything crypto depends on how bullish people are about the project, Wizardia’s bigger popularity is a good indicator that the game may stay relevant (and profitable) in the future longer.
